- Production of synchronous and asynchronous electric motors of horizontal and vertical design, explosion-proof and general industrial purpose;
- Production of synchronous and asynchronous generators;
- Production of special electric motors;
- Development of new and modernization of existing types of electric motors;
- Repair and maintenance of electrical machines;
- Supervision during the supervision of installation and commissioning works.
- 1955 – construction of the plant begins.
- 1957 – launch of electric motor production.
- 1957-1967 – 1.2 million engines and 2 thousand large machines were manufactured.
- 1967 – awarded the honorary name “50th Anniversary of the October Revolution”.
- 1982 – the plant produced 1-3.5 MW industrial electric motors for the USSR and export.
- 1983 – demand is high, exports to 39 countries, including England, France, and Japan.
- During the Soviet period, the plant was one of the city’s leading enterprises.
- After 1991, the plant was transferred to the Ministry of Machine Building of Ukraine.
- 1995 – included in the privatization list; transformed into Yuzhelektromash OJSC.
- 2000 – ZKEM was established on the basis of CKEM of Yuzhelektromash OJSC.
- The plant has become one of the most dynamic enterprises in the electrical industry.
- 2000-present – more than 30 new types of electric motors (100+ designs) have been developed.
- 2004 – Engineering Center was established to modernize existing and develop new types of electric machines.
- 2004-present – improvement of technologies and materials; products meet high standards, including for nuclear power plants.
- 2020 – ZKEM invests in production modernization, develops new sales channels and modern approaches to product promotion; continues to create new electrical products and ready-made engineering solutions.
